EXPLORING?
Law Enforcement Exploring provides educational training programs for young adults (14-20) on the purposes, mission, and objectives of law enforcement. The program provides career orientation experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation.
Most people don’t start learning their jobs until the day they start to work while Explorers start now. By the time Explorers are ready to begin their career, they have gained immense knowledge in the law enforcement career.
Explorer meetings take place bi-weekly, on Mondays, from 6 pm until 8:30 pm. All applicants (high school) must maintain grade averages of 70 and above in all classes. Report cards must be turned in every quarter to make sure grades are maintained. Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Explorers are an extension of the Sheriff’s Office and must present themselves of high integrity at all times. If you would like to receive application information please send an email to slowes@colletoncounty.org
An advisor will send you the information via email, fill out the application, and turn it into the Sheriff's Office for review. Once your application has been reviewed, if you're a prime candidate for the program you will receive a call from an advisor regarding your acceptance.
